Melissourgos Castle has been founded in the 17th Century, at the Southern part of Attica (Lagonissi), just 15 minutes from the International Airport of Athens, on the way to the Archaeological site of Sounion Peninsula, at a distance of 1.000 meters from the sea, while offering a gorgeous view and unique sunsets.
It is one of the oldest and probably most historic private residences in Greece, that are still maintained in excellent condition and it belongs to the same family since 1836.
Within 15 acres of private land, apart from the 350 year old Castle with the Museum furniture and atmosphere, there is a complex of buildings, stables, worker’s houses, water wells and other secondary spaces.
One of them, the old Oil Factory, a unique sample of the oil production of the beginning of the century in Attica, is still saved up to date, with all its equipment and machinery in relatively good shape.
The small old church is available for weddings and baptisms, within the same area, which can easily host more than 600 seated people.
